Freightliner North Bay started out as Canadian Fleet services back in March of 1991. Canadian Fleet Services became a full on Freightliner Sales dealership in 1994 and only 5 years later won the Freightliner's Pinnacle award in 1999 for Best Customer Support and Satisfaction.

Doug and Hilary Vardy took full ownership of Canadian Fleet Services in 2005 and changed the name to Freightliner North Bay in 2012.

As of May 2023 Freightliner North Bay is owned by the TruckIQ Dealership Network.
